Lightfoot & Sons Renegade 23

The 2023 Lightfoot & Sons ‘Renegade’ Pinot Noir is a bold, experimental departure from traditional Gippsland Pinot, designed to showcase the "wilder side" of the Myrtle Point Vineyard.

This small-batch release is 100% whole-bunch fermented and was even foot-stomped once to gently extract flavor and tannin without harshness. The result is a vibrant, "unapologetic" red that trades delicate transparency for a more muscular, savory profile. On the nose, it is highly aromatic with notes of dark cherry, wild strawberry, and charred spice, while the palate is medium-bodied and deeply textured with dusty wood-grain tannins and a refreshing, forest-floor earthiness.

Organically farmed on Terra Rossa over limestone soils, it is a complex, "conversation-starting" Pinot that thrives when served with a slight chill.
